Erebus

Erebus is neither male nor female. He, she, they, (sometimes all, sometimes none), are whatever they are at any given moment, because Erebus existed before genders, and they don't give a fuck.

As the Primordial god of Darkness, Erebus is a scary MFer. They exist wherever the light cannot touch- under your bed, in your closet, in your head.

To try to get a visual, picture the darkest thing you can think of. Focus on it, as uncomfortable as it may be. Okay, now keep that image in your head, get up, and turn off the lights. That's Erebus.
